SCHUMIS LABELCENTER — FREE MAC HELPER SOURCE r03
Developed by Schumis Software Lab

This is Python source with a local setup utility, NOT a notarized macOS app or a DYMO driver. It includes the corrected 1.0-r03 backend: configured CUPS queues only, never discovered Bonjour aliases. Host-specific boot/firewall installers and our private pairing data are excluded.

REQUIREMENTS AND TEST BOUNDARIES
- macOS with Python 3.9+ and a working openssl command. Check python3 --version and openssl version.
- Python standard library only. No pip dependency, subscription or purchase. Python is available from https://www.python.org/downloads/macos/ using normal Apple security checks.
- Source installation was tested on Intel Mac/macOS 12 with Python 3.9.6. Apple Silicon has not been separately tested. This is not a bundled Intel binary or a claim of physical testing on every Mac model.
- For real printing, the host must already print to its DYMO using an installed driver and CUPS queue. The queue name must contain DYMO or LabelWriter. No manufacturer driver/firmware is bundled.

1. EXTRACT AND INSTALL LOCALLY
Extract the full ZIP. In Terminal, open the extracted source folder and run:
  python3 install_helper.py
Setup does not start a server. Default installation:
  ~/Library/Application Support/Schumis Labelcenter/SourceHelper-r03
A new private identity, TLS certificate and token are generated in its private-state directory. Keep this on the host's private local disk, never a public folder/share.
Default configuration listens ONLY on 127.0.0.1 and works only from this same Mac.

2. START AN ISOLATED LOCAL CHECK
Start the INSTALLED copy:
  python3 "$HOME/Library/Application Support/Schumis Labelcenter/SourceHelper-r03/run_helper.py" --dry-run
This is explicit QA: no physical print backend, only QA_DYMO. Stop with Control-C.
Omit --dry-run for real local printing once the driver/queue is verified. Do not run two helpers on the same port.

3. OPTIONAL: YOUR PHONE ON YOUR TRUSTED LAN
Find your Mac's actual private IPv4 address in its network settings or use its stable .local name. From the extracted SOURCE folder, explicitly choose LAN access, for example:
  python3 install_helper.py --listen-lan --pair-host 192.168.1.50
Replace the example address with your own Mac. No address is inferred. A same-version installation retains its identity and backs up previous configuration. Start the installed run_helper.py without --dry-run; keep the Mac awake and Terminal open.
LAN mode binds to 0.0.0.0 on the chosen port (default 8769) and advertises the helper on the local network. TLS and the private token are required for every request. Choose only your own trusted network. Setup changes no firewall/router/login/boot service or system setting. Use normal OS permission procedures; never disable protections to bypass a block.

4. PAIR LABELCENTER
The installed private-state/Labelcenter-pairing.json contains an access token. Transfer it securely only to your own iPhone/iPad/Mac. Never publish it or attach it to a support request.
In Labelcenter > Printers, import the pairing file, refresh printers and choose the configured DYMO queue. Physically inspect the first label and scan its QR/barcode. Queue acceptance does not prove readable physical output.
If submission is uncertain, check the host queue before requesting another copy. No automatic reprint occurs. An obsolete non-configured alias is rejected before a new job is created.

5. STOP, RECONFIGURE AND PRESERVE
Control-C stops a manually started helper. No autostart is installed; after reboot you start it yourself. Run the same installer again for an explicit LAN/port change. Differing installed sources are preserved; choose another --install-dir for a new version. Partial/missing identity files are not silently replaced. Privately back up the WHOLE private-state directory; the certificate is valid 365 days. On expiry/lost identity: stop the helper, preserve the backup and use a new private installation plus new pairing, without bypassing TLS checks.

This package's tests cover isolated loopback TLS/token/pin, mocked enumeration and dry-run. They are not a new physical printer/iPhone test, reboot test or notarization attestation. Extracting this source ZIP does not modify the original Windows app or your already-installed helper.
